What is the difference between ASP and SaaS?
There are significant differences between these deployment models.
The ASP model relieves the customer of operating responsibility, but the burdens of license and
M&S costs and extended deployment cycles remain. SaaS allows for lower operating costs,
rapid application deployment, avoidance of M&S fees under a “pay as you go” model, with no
up front capital expenditure. You don’t pay to own the software, but rather for using it.
How does SaaS work?
Software-as-a-Service is a subscription based delivery model of a software solution. Chart-Tech will host both the solution(s) and your data on our secure servers. You can access your solution (rate manager, contract modeling, claims auditing) “24/7” as if it resided locally, but without all the additional expenses for licenses, hardware, maintenance and support, additional personnel, etc.
Does Chart-Tech mitigate my risk?
Yes. During the first six months of the initial contract, you may exercise an option to terminate your subscription for any reason. Chart-Tech, Inc. will refund the unused portion of your SaaS fee.
What performance guarantees does Chart-Tech provide?
Chart-Tech guarantees 99.9% uptime and high speed web access to your data. Our Help Desk is available weekdays from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Central Time.
What level of security does Chart-Tech offer?
Chart-Tech is a SAS 70 Type II certified corporation and has met all of the requirements for Security Control Objectives and Corresponding Controls as defined by our auditors, Plante Moran, PLLC.
All communications are over secure SSL connections and claims data is de-identified prior to being uploaded to Chart-Tech servers.
Besides the subscription fee, are there any other fees I might incur?
Yes.
There is a modest one-time set-up fee.
If you require more than the 10Gb storage included with the subscription fee, there is a modest monthly fee per Gb of additional storage. (You control the data which is stored for your account.)
Additional custom development and consulting will incur additional fees.
Who owns my data?
You maintain ownership of your claims and contract data.
Provisions in our User Agreement provide that we either destroy or return
this data to you if you elect to terminate the subscription.
In fact, you control the data so you can always delete files whenever you wish.
Can I still license Visium™ solutions for internal hosting?
Certainly. We can assist you on integration and provide on-going maintenance and support.
